African Tulip Tree Print on Canvas by Carrie Bullock
'African Tulip Tree' Print on Canvas by Carrie Bullock
Taken on the Road to Hana, Maui, HI. The African Tulip Tree, also known as “Fireball” or “Flame of the Forest” is an East African native species. Botanists first planted these in the Hawaiian Islands in the late 1800's. By the 1930's, foresters planted and dropped seeds by air throughout the islands. Sadly, this strikingly beautiful flower tree has been deemed an invasive species. But it sure is beautiful!
